Lordrush Lord Gear & Charms Guide: Unlock Levels, Materials and Upgrade Rules

Lord Gear and Lord Charms are your lord's own equipment, separate from hero gear. They boost your troops in Expedition battles and unlock in the mid-game. Here's how they work and the rule that stops most charm upgrades.
Lord Gear
- Unlocks at Town Center 22.
- Six pieces, two for each troop type.
- Upgrade materials: Satin, Gilded Threads and Artisan's Vision.
Lord Gear affects Expedition (world map) combat. It does not affect Conquest or Arena, which use only your heroes' own stats.
Lord Charms
- Unlock at Town Center 25.
- 18 charms, three for each Lord Gear piece, each going from level 1 to 11.
- Materials: Charm Guides and Charm Designs.
- Charms add Health and Lethality.
Why can't I upgrade my charm? According to the official help center, a charm can't be upgraded until its matching Lord Gear piece has been enhanced at least once. Enhance the gear piece first, then the charms on it unlock.
Where to get the materials
- Viking Vengeance is the main source of Satin and Gilded Threads. Older Empires also receive Artisan's Vision. It runs bi-weekly with two invasions per event, so never skip it once you're at TC 22.
- Version 1.10.6 added an exchange for surplus Lord Gear and Charm materials, which unlocks once your Empire reaches a later stage. Check your shop if you have spare materials of the wrong type.
Upgrade tips
- Prioritise the two Lord Gear pieces for your main troop type.
- Enhance each piece at least once as soon as you can, so its charms become upgradable.
- Defend well in Viking Vengeance and reinforce teammates: reinforcing earns 50% credit for Vikings defeated without taking points from the host.
- Stay in your alliance during Viking Vengeance; leaving forfeits your points and ranking rewards.
